The giving of gifts is a joyous thing. Whether birthday gifts, or random gifts, or best of all, CHRISTMAS presents.
But can you imagine a scenario where the free, gracious, joyous act of gift giving actually leads
to division, factions, and fighting?
If you cannot imagine how the giving of gifts, which is a good thing, can lead to fighting, you never had siblings!

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 
Now anytime Paul says he doesn’t want us to be ignorant or uninformed about a subject, it is because the likelihood exists that there is much confusion surrounding that topic. And sure enough, here we are 2,000 years later, and there is still much confusion about the topic of spiritual gifts.
