Before We Talk Tithing, Let's Talk Shirts

"So how you gonna stand there and point to Leviticus and tell me the Bible says “you are obligated to tithe!” If that same day, preacher you are wearing a cotton poly blended shirt, you got a tight fade haircut and I seen you at Shrimp Basket...."

How should NT believers read, interpret and apply OT verses about the laws of Moses?

(And yes, I do want to preach a sermon on giving (what is commonly called tithing) but this is the question before the question. And As I began going deeper and deeper into this question, I realized this demands a full sermon. Then NEXT Sunday we will take the same chapter and get to tithing.)

To get an answer, we need to simply ask, “what are the purposes of the law?” Why was it given? Before you know how to use anything, a tool, gadget, whatever, you first have to know, OK what is it FOR? What is its purpose?
