Honor Among Thieves

On that dreadful good Friday, our Lord was crucified between two thieves. But all around him there was a shady cast of characters. And none of them seemed to get it. None of them believed Jesus was the KING, was the Messiah.

His disciples had fled except for maybe John at this point. They didn’t get it. Pilate was there, but he didn’t get it. Herod was there, but he didn’t get it. The chief priests, the pharisees and the scribes were there, but they didn’t get it.

The roman soldiers were there, and the crowds were there, but none of them got it. Only a thief, a hardened criminal, a brigand, a malefactor, that day GOT IT.
