Loving Anger Kindness

What is the wrath of God? His wrath is his active, resolute opposition to all evil.
His delight is spontaneous and intrinsic to his being, but his wrath is provoked by the defiance of his creatures. His love will never make peace with our evil.
Note:
God’s wrath is perfect.
His wrath is not moody vindictiveness.

God has perfect judgment. He sees things EXACTLY how they are and in Isaiah 9 things are not good.

Isaiah 1-5 is preface
6 is calling, and sets off a section of what God does in one prophet that he one day wants to accomplish in the entire world.
7-9:7 is grace-through judgement—to Judah
9:8-11:16 is grace—through judgment—to Israel (aka northern kingdom)

We are going to look at that 9:8-11:10 passage where God is calling out the Northern kingdom, Israel, aka northern kingdom, aka Ephraim.

The best way to think of these verses as 4 horrifying stanzas of a poem, with a refrain marking the end of each. I will make one comment about each of these stanzas.
