From Policy B.2 Nomination and Election of Deacons

“A deacon is a servant, a leader, and a spiritually minded man of exemplary character. He possesses the same qualifications of the first deacons, as stated in Acts 6:1-8 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13.”

Spiritual Qualifications

“A deacon must be full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:3): full of wisdom (Acts 6:3); full of faith (Acts 6:5); willing to assist
the pastor through participation in various church programs and by leading the church in the achievement of its
mission; practice stewardship by contributing his time, talents and means cheerfully, regularly, and liberally for the
achievement of the Redeemer’s cause on earth.
You may nominate up to seven people. The list of men who are eligible for nomination of deacon will consist of:
  • Currently listed as resident members of Cullman First Baptist Church and have been for at least one year as of October 1, 2026
  • Are at least 21 years of age as of October 1, 2026 are not currently serving as an active or life deacon; and are not serving as part time or full-time ministerial staff. 
  • Men who attend Bible study and worship at least 2/3 of the time unless providentially hindered.
The following men are presently serving as a deacon and are not eligible for election this year.  (See list below)

All nominations will be considered, but a nomination does not mean selection.
If you would like to submit a paper copy of the Deacon Nomination Form, print it by tapping here
Printed nominations can be submitted in in an envelope via the July 2026 Deacon Nomination Form at the church office, as you exit Sunday services or placed in the box behind the Sanctuary.
